The 2025 RLAARLO Speed Race is drawing to a close, marking an annual event that brought together elite speed racers from around the world. This year's competition saw a significant new record set in both the Stock and Extreme classes. The Extreme Class surpassed the 180 MPH mark, reaching 188 MPH, just shy of 190 MPH. The Stock Class also set a new high, with a top speed of 139 MPH, further pushing the limits of the class.
The Event's Origin and Past Glories: A Legacy of Speed, a History of Broken Records
The RLAARLO Speed Race was founded out of a deep passion for RC racing and an endless desire for extreme speed. The goal of the race is to create a professional and fair competitive platform where RC enthusiasts worldwide can unleash their passion for speed and challenge their personal limits. The RLAARLO Speed Race has always been a stage where records are constantly broken and legends are born. In 2023, Shawn Marsh set a record of 178 MPH. The following year, in 2024, Miguel Manuel Marquez Marfil broke the world record for a 1:10 scale production RC car with a speed of 186 MPH. In the Stock Class, an unmodified AK-787 reached 124 MPH last year. These achievements not only highlight the charm of RC racing but also set a higher benchmark for this year's competition.

A Feat of Pushing Limits: Every Contestant is a Hero Worth Remembering
Many participants dedicated their spare time to this event. They come from all walks of life, across different countries and regions, driven by their love for speed racing and the pursuit of honor. They searched for a place to race, avoiding traffic and seizing every second to achieve a result that surpassed their ideals. The act of challenging one's limits is a heroic feat in itself, and every breakthrough and improvement is worth remembering.
Official Support and Rule Optimization: All for the Best Participant Experience
Throughout the competition, the RLAARLO official team maintained close communication with the contestants. The registration deadline was extended multiple times to give contestants valuable preparation time. The technical team also had in-depth discussions with contestants regarding the allowed parts and rules, continuously optimizing and adjusting the rules based on their feedback to provide a fair and clear competitive environment.
Looking Ahead: Improvements for Future Races
To future,we are committed to make eight significant improvements for future events:
1. Clear Parts Display and Rules: For the next race, participants must clearly display all part markings without obstruction or replacement. Videos must provide clear close-ups (1-2 seconds, steady and well-lit) of each component at the beginning or end of their videos. Participants must also disclose all vehicle modifications beforehand; any undisclosed changes will be considered a violation, and the race result will be invalidated.
2. Clear Battery Configuration: Videos must clearly show whether batteries are configured in series or parallel.
3. Guaranteed Race Environment and GPS: The race environment must be well-lit for clear vehicle visibility. If the environment is too dark, additional vehicle lighting must be used. GPS tracking must remain stable and connected throughout the entire race.
4. Refined Race Categories: The Stock Class will be differentiated by single-motor and dual-motor setups to create a more balanced competitive environment.
5. Transparent Equipment Rules and Community Engagement: To prevent similar issues, we promise to publish a detailed and illustrated official equipment list before the next race. Participants will be required to submit their planned equipment list upon registration, and any changes must be promptly communicated to the committee. We will also actively seek more community feedback on equipment to be allowed or prohibited. While we will retain the right of final interpretation to maintain fair play, we are committed to listening and making our rules as transparent as possible.
6. Enhanced Review Process: To ensure the integrity of our events, we will upgrade our review process by increasing our review team and implementing a dual-review mechanism. We are also considering a third-party review mechanism and the formation of a dedicated Speed Race Review Committee.
7. Sufficient Preparation Time: The next race will begin its warm-up period earlier, giving participants more time to prepare. We also commit to ensuring more sufficient parts inventory and clearer communication channels.
8. Open Dialogue on Equipment Display: Regarding the suggestion to remove the final internal equipment display to protect competitive advantages, we are open to further discussion on this topic and will continue to listen to the community as we finalize the rules.
Once again, we thank every participant for your support. Your passion is the driving force of the RLAARLO community. We are confident that these changes will make the next RLAARLO Speed Race a more fair and exciting event for everyone!
Let's look forward to the future together!
Keep the Passion!
