A new 1/10-scale rear-wheel-drive platform combines integrated electronics, a factory-installed limited-slip differential and detailed scale styling. Global sales begin October 20.
RLAARLO announces the upcoming global launch of XDX, its new 1/10-scale rear-wheel-drive RC drift platform. Available in XDX-A90 and XDX-964 body styles, with Ready-to-Run (RTR) and Roller configurations, XDX combines a dedicated drift chassis with extensive mechanical adjustment, integrated electronics and detailed scale presentation.
Global sales will open on October 20, 2026, at 00:00 (UTC+8). A global launch livestream will begin on October 19, 2026, at 22:40 (UTC+8), introducing the platform ahead of its release.
XDX represents RLAARLO’s fourth-generation “Complete RTR” concept. The company defines this approach through a four-stage framework describing the progression of RC drift cars in specialization, scale realism and integration:
- First Generation — Converted Touring Cars: Electric touring cars adapted for drifting, establishing the starting point for the category.
- Second Generation — Purpose-Built Drift Chassis: Platforms developed specifically for drifting, with chassis architecture and vehicle setup dedicated to the discipline.
- Third Generation — Partially Integrated RTR Packages: A semi-RTR approach incorporating selected scale accessories, such as brake calipers, with limited integration of the broader scale experience.
- Fourth Generation — Complete RTR: A complete ready-to-run package combining a dedicated drift platform, integrated electronics, comprehensive scale accessories, a finished body shell and coordinated vehicle lighting.
The XDX RTR configurations bring this concept into a complete vehicle package. Their electronics combine a 3650-size 3300KV brushless motor with a 60A sensorless brushless electronic speed controller, powered by an included 2S 3600mAh LiPo battery. The ESC features a factory-tuned control program with a built-in pulsed-braking function, making its operating characteristics part of the platform’s original development.
Steering is handled by a 20 kg-rated low-profile metal-gear servo, paired with a standalone gyro in a nylon housing. The gyro provides three independently adjustable parameters, allowing drivers to refine steering assistance to suit their setup and preferences. This combination gives owners scope to develop the car’s control response as they gain experience with rear-wheel-drive drifting.
The radio system comprises a 2.4GHz six-channel T-rexRC transmitter and a matching six-channel receiver. Independent adjustment of the left and right steering endpoints allows steering travel to be matched to the chassis setup. Together with the dedicated lighting control board, these components form an integrated electronics package developed alongside the vehicle’s mechanical systems.
Full-chain in-house research and development is central to the XDX program. RLAARLO states that it is the world’s only RC drift car brand to achieve full-chain in-house R&D, with all XDX components produced in its own factories. This capability covers the transmitter, ESC, steering servo, lighting control board, gyro, body shell, plastic components and metal hardware.

The approach provides an alternative to assembling a vehicle from components developed by multiple independent suppliers. By coordinating mechanical design and electronic control within the same development process, RLAARLO can address component matching and system compatibility at the vehicle level. Consistent control response and handling are core engineering priorities across the platform.
The XDX RTR drivetrain features a factory-installed limited-slip differential with 7075 aluminum outdrives. The standard gearing includes a 48-pitch, 23-tooth steel motor pinion and an 85-tooth nylon spur gear, combining metal and engineering-plastic components within the transmission.

Front and rear independent double-wishbone suspension works with all-metal, oil-filled shock absorbers featuring threaded spring-preload adjustment. Camber, caster and toe are continuously adjustable, while adjustable Ackermann geometry provides further control over steering setup. These mechanical adjustments allow drivers to explore different configurations as their driving technique and setup knowledge develop.

The motor layout supports both mid-rear and high-rear positions, providing options for changing weight distribution. A centrally positioned battery compartment and an adjustable aluminum motor mount complete the layout. Magnetic body mounts and a quick-release roll cage latch provide access to the chassis for battery changes, maintenance and adjustments.

Both RTR body styles use 1.2 mm polycarbonate shells, with the A90 finished in Midnight Blue and the 964 in Lizard Green. Scale equipment includes a roll cage, race-style dashboard, movable gear lever, brake calipers and side mirrors with reflective inserts. The cockpit supports left- or right-hand-drive configurations, while sliding seats provide flexibility for fitting scale figures. A dedicated mounting position also allows owners to add an optional 5 g servo for steering-wheel movement.

Lighting is tailored to each body style. Both models feature low- and high-beam headlights, brake lights, hazard lights, alternating headlight strobes and blue-and-yellow simulated exhaust backfire effects. The A90 adds sequential turn signals and blue-and-purple welcome daytime running light effects. The 964 includes reversing lights and fog lights, giving each body style its own lighting presentation.

XDX will launch with the following manufacturer’s suggested retail prices and introductory offers:
The RTR configuration includes the chassis, finished body and electronics. The Roller configuration includes the chassis and body shell without electronics, providing an alternative for enthusiasts who prefer to select and install their own equipment.
RLAARLO plans to introduce more than 70 optional upgrade parts across three release waves. The program will expand the platform’s tuning, personalization and performance-upgrade options, supporting continued development beyond the initial vehicle purchase.

The company also plans to build a broader drift racing ecosystem around XDX, connecting the vehicle platform, optional upgrades, community knowledge and organized competition. The aim is to support progression from first-time RTR ownership to advanced setup work and competitive drifting, with opportunities for drivers to exchange experience and participate in the sport.
Enthusiasts worldwide are invited to join the RLAARLO Official Drift Community on Facebook to discuss XDX, share builds and setup ideas, and connect with fellow RC drift drivers.
