Rlaarlo Omni-Terminator Upgrades—Differential housing and differential drive cup upgrade parts

Welcome to the Rlaarlo Engineering Workshop!

Upgrading your RC car can be daunting, but don't fret! With some know-how, anyone can unleash its full potential.

Let Rlaarlo open the doors to the world of remote-controlled car modifications for you!

Today, we will show you how to replace the differential housing and differential drive cup upgrade parts for the Omni Terminator RC car.

Tools and Parts Needed:

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tools and Parts
  • Gather all necessary tools and upgrade parts before starting the replacement process.
  1. Disassemble the Differential
  • Use the 1.5mm hex driver to unscrew the four screws on the differential. Open the differential case.
  1. Remove the Gear and Pin
  • Use needle-nose pliers to remove the gear. Take out the pin and remove the differential out drive cup. Note that there is a shim here.
  1. Check Gasket Seal and O-Ring
  • Check if the gasket seal and O-ring are intact. If damaged, replace them with the included spare parts.
  1. Install S2 Drive Cup Upgrade Parts
  • Install the S2 drive cup upgrade parts into the large differential gear. Press down the raised O-ring and fit the shim. Insert the pin and install the large bevel gear.
  1. Remove the Planetary Gears
  • Remove the planetary differential gears and bevel gear from the differential housing. Take out the pin and remove the out drive cup. Then remove the bearing, shim, and O-ring.
  1. Assemble the Differential Housing Upgrade
  • Fit the bearing into the differential housing upgrade part. Insert the S2 upgraded out drive cup. In sequence, place the O-ring and shim and insert the pin. Insert the bevel gear and planetary gears, ensuring the bevel gear groove aligns with the pin.
  1. Fill with Differential Oil
  • Use 10,000cst differential oil to fill the differential. Ensure the small bevel gear cross shafts intersect when placing them inside. After filling with oil, align the large differential gear and differential housing screw holes.
  1. Reassemble the Differential
  • Tighten the four screws. Ensure all screws are properly positioned before fully tightening them.
